This program isn’t going in the right direction. We’re a floundering program in a failing conference.

We don’t need a coach that wants to be here forever. We need a coach that will win. And he can leave if he wins. We’ve dealt with that a few times.

We don’t need a coach that is so loyal to his assistants that he’ll be more loyal to them than to the program that pays him 7 figures a year.

We’ve won zero NCAA Tournament games in 5 years. We’re about to miss the NCAA Tournament in year 6 if we don’t win the A-10 Tournament. Things need to change over the next 3-4 months or this program is DEAD and we can have our own Chris Mooney.

No Wade. Even if he was a good option, there are dozens of other people that can coach at this level. We just don’t have one of them currently.
You don't know this, you just think it. You're unhappy with 102-53 in the first year post pandemic while conference realignment and transfers result in transformative change in the sport.

Stop with all this regressive VA go back in the past date your ex stuff.

I thought Wade was brilliant, but it is time to leave the Shaka tree behind and go in a new direction. It got us this far, but we need something new and out of the box. We need a coach that will elevate and forge a new identity. I don't care if we play packline junkyard dog ball, or run a 3-2, or play 5 guard run and gun, but we need somebody that can win.

I know that we’re not a good basketball team. I know that we’re worse today than when Mike took over. I know that we were better our last year in the CAA than we are now. I know that what I saw tonight was unacceptable.

I think if you want to be a fan of VCU basketball you're gonna have to consider the future instead

The future? With NIL and immediate transfers?

We have 2-3 decent players on the team and they’ll all have options for next year.

I’m considering the future. And we’re f’ed.
Yeah…with the apathy that is surrounding the program I imagine NIL deals are going to be harder to come by. Why not transfer if the NIL isn’t there 😳

I am not on board... just yet. But this loss was the worst one in a long long long while.

However, I would love to know what happened in Mike's "lost year" where we beat LSU then the locker room completely crumbled. I am sure that people know. I am also sure these "insiders" won't share on a public forum.

BUT..... I am seeing a lot of that year in this years team.

Add in the new tranfer rules and losing the locker room again could be absolutely devastating.

Let's see how things play out a bit more and I will see how I feel after the OOC to see if I am on the fire Rhoades team.

the decline of the A10 is concerning but there is little to be done about that that is not dictated by the actions of the "big boys".
Rhoades needs to go back to D2.

We had a couple of "bad apples" on that team that caused most of the internal and external problems. They were WW players. I am not positive it was all on MR. This team does not appear to have any outright bad apples, but we have some that are immature.
