What is your definition of "sh*t the bed"?
I don't feel like going there because I am hopeful that they will win tonight and go on a winning streak but it would be stacking losses and losing in Brooklyn.

I don’t think VCU had an at large opportunity. They’d have had to run the table, and even then it is very doubtful they’d score one in my opinion.
We would be 25-6 if we would win out now, with road wins (sweeping both) vs, Dayton and SLU, then opportunities in the tourney (have to see how it works out who we would play), two wins in the tourney, lose in the finals, we're 27-7.
Maybe I'm crazy but I'd be really p.o.ed if we didn't get in at 27-7 and a bunch of p5s with losing records vs. Q1s but lots of opportunities got in at 18-14.
If that is the case something is smelling really bad in college bb.

If he wanted it to continue it would. He holds all the cards.
agree
Bennett has played two H&Hs with VCU in 10 years as well as two H&Hs with JMU in the same period
has played W&M about 4 or 5 times in last decade but I believe all in C-Ville
also has played Radford, Liberty, Norfolk st, Hampton, in C-ville over the last decade

personally I think it is great that he does that given he could pretty much schedule anyone in the country he wants to

juxtapose this with Va Tech scheduling OOC with Va colleges and universities

That’s what happens though

If you had asked me if I would be happy with 2 losses for VCU at the halfway point of A10 play I would have said yes after watching OOC play. I would not have expected those losses to be to Duquesne (although on the road) or Bona at home. If VCU can do the same in the second half 4 losses would be better than I would have guessed. Here is the thing though. Since Rhoades took over VCU has responded with stacked losses after a bad game like they had against Bona. Hope that it does not happen this year but tonight's game will give me the answer. All this being said, I do like Rhoades. I am not a hater. I do wonder what is gonna happen this offseason if they sh*t the bed.
I agree 14-4 is good for the a10. I wouldnt have expect Duquesne but the Bonnies have always given us trouble even when we were clearly the better team.

All this team can do is stay focused and win one game at a time.

Go Rams!

Right and he said "it didn't work out this season but its something we want to do again soon" referring to scheduling VCU. You do realize they have contracts in place to play other schools & are obligated to the ACC/Big 10 challenge plus a tourney every year don't you ??

I mean if we go from 1st place to completely out of the top 4 and even lower than that I would say that’s 💩ing the bed. Again that’s if. Fact is this is a very down year for the A10. If we don’t finish top 4 we should be asking some serious questions.
Yeah. Diarrhea is going back and forth between all the A10 members!! 😆

I respectfully disagree. (Again, not saying what I'm about to say is "fair" or "realistic" but there definitely was a chance). Had we not lost Saturday and swept our league, MAYBE drop one game.. MAYBE to the likes of a St. Louis on the road in a close contest, and we make it to the semifinals or A10 championship game I definitely think an at large bid would've been on the table. Last year we were in consideration until we doo doo'ed the bed down the stretch in the most critical juncture of the season. We had really no quality wins last year either other than the ranked Davidson game and road Dayton game. Same thing this year, a small handful (so far of good wins) yet we were in contention for an at large.

We only need 6 more wins to hit our TOTAL win number from last year including the NIT first round game. If we win 6 straight, we still have 3 more regular season games, then the conference tournament. That means another 3 win opportunities, right? Unless they changed something with Loyola joining. We're looking at a possibility of 27 wins as a runner up in the A10 tournament. I have a hard time believing that 27 wins wouldn't get us in. Even 26 wins would be really impressive. In the history of VCU basketball, have we ever not made the tournament winning 25+ games? I genuinely do not know.. asking for a friend?
