Let's not miss the forest for the trees here folks. Everyone is welcome to their opinion including those who want to act like our program is doing very well, but to act like "well we won four in a row so why are we discussing Rhoades future anymore" when we're currently staring at very slim chances of an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament despite the fact that it's our coach's sixth season (and the fact that it's only December when we're very typically still in the running for an at large) is ridiculous.
It ain't over till its over. That's why they play the games. If there isn't improvement over the next 5 games then I'll toss the towel, but I think that's unlikely. There are no overpowering teams in the A10. Many see that as a bad thing. I see it as a good chance to take the title and bid. Our raw talent level is very good. The key word here is "raw." They'll figure it out.

Beat up a couple of buy teams at home and suddenly the complaints against a coach that dashed our chances of making the only tournament that matters before winter finals are stupid lol.

We'll be making excuses for this guy and pointing out his overall win record in year 12 after our 3rd tournament berth.

I see about 9 wins baked into our out of conference schedule and about as many in conference since we get to play Mason, George Washington, Lasalle, Duquesne, and Fordham once or twice a year.

0W-1L-4DNP is the only record that matters

4DNP is disingenuous

So say that. It still makes your point.
We can split that hair however we want. The fact remains In Mike's 5 years here we've actually played one game in the tournament and we lost it and it wasn't really all that competitive.

If there's a second game I missed I'd love to see the replay or box score.

It's not hairsplitting, it's being accurate. I'm not arguing any of the conclusions you draw, I'm just saying present a correct dataset.

I would argue that it's more accurate to say that we didn't qualify to play in 4 of 5 of Mike's seasons than it is to say we competed and lost twice and didn't qualify 3 times.

Whatever the case is, a negative framing isn't going to be what makes Mike's tournament performance here look bad - he's done that on his own, despite his apparently notable overall win record.

Agree. I doubt any AD would make a decision to fire a coach because the team was DQ'd due to forced outside his control. Where Mike should be judged is missing last year, and how we imploded before COVID in 2020. both situations showed an inability to adapt (Joe Giradi with his binder), which is again apparent from our offensive schemes. If we can't shoot consistently, we should be looking at more finesse and pounding the paint.

Mike should be very thankful everything got cancelled in 2020. Obviously we don’t know what would have happened but the year we got covid but we were playing like the best three pointing shooting team in the NCAA. Bones was a great player but likely we don’t win that even with his amazing play. St Bona showed in the A10 final one player can only carry you so far when they made us look silly.

Slim chance?
I'd say zero chance for an at-large is more accurate ;)

No one in the conference has a chance of an at-large. Can’t blame the coach for that.

Even if we had won one of the games we lost and had a higher NET, practically every single A10 conference game is a trap game and losing just one would rank any chances we had.
