But then we wouldn't have the three point shooting. Shrive gave us his all. Fermin would still be a freshman and have freshman moments.

I mean you're right. We needed shriver's 3 pt shooting all season and you can get away with it against a10 level competition

But against this half court physical grind style of defense? He took a look banging over the course of the game. They ran him into screens chasing shooters as continuously knocked around by hard picks..then having scramble in our press...then getting banged and backed down multiple times by sexen, a big with 3 to 4 inches and 30 pounds on him?? He lost his legs from all the grind and could barely get his shot off

Now if fermin or Lawal were physically capable..he might have had enough legs to hit a couple more shots to go down.

No one was stopping Saxon. The refs called fouls against us and made us in foul trouble. Lawal and Fermin just didn't step up to the challenge this game.

You are getting Fermin confused with your boy Qudus W. That comment about 235-240 blah, blah, blah is exactly what you said about Q playing at Georgetown. Fermin is probably 215. BTW - Q is not going to be on the VCU team next year.
No. He isn't 215 anymore. That was his weight when he got here. He's added on about 20 pounds.

Compare him to Deloach..you'll see a huge difference.

Thread title went from, "I'm a bandwagoner and don't like Mike" to "I screwed up so let's give Mike some appreciation" and then back to "I'm a bandwagoner who doesn't like Mike....please come join me other similar feeling fans....let's form a group and whine about 3 NCAA appearances, one NIT appearance, and A10 tournament championship, 2 Season titles and a 27 win season. It should be simple to find another coach who can do the same."

My question is at what point does NCAA success matter??

Since the FF we are 3-8-1 in the tourney. We have lost more than twice what we have won. Our wins are against Wichita, Akron, and Oregon St. For the flagship giant killer we believe we are we have only beat one power school in the tourney the past 12 years. Richmond matched that last year. And two of those 3 wins were the years immediately after FF, so we actually have trended down recently.

Now to be fair, you gotta make the tourney, and I believe if we keep getting enough shots we are gonna break through at some point, but we have definitely not made the most of these opportunities.

Now let's just say over the next 4 years we make the tourney 2 or 3 times. Let's say we don't make the 2nd weekend. So if at that point MR has been here 11 years without a tourney win, will everyone still be on board then??

Over 75% of teams that make the field don't make the second weekend.

All of us would love to see Tournament success. But to fire a guy from an A10 job who has won close to 70% of his games because he can't make the Sweet 16 on a regular basis is absurd.

If that happens Rhoades will have schools blowing his phone up with offers. It might not matter how you feel about him.

Yall don't wanna know the damage I do to my body at games. I don't take the games lightly. But I deal with whatever the outcome pretty well, as long as I see heart. That's what I'm there for. And I don't need to blast the internet if it's a loss. I'm a grown man.
