Bones has not played since early in the second quarter. He’s only played 7 minutes tonight. Campazzo and Forbes have played a lot more.

not guarding Ja - that was just a one off
Nuggets playing lots of zone with Bones on court
Forbes going to take a few of Bones minutes for awhile
Combos Combos Combos. Malone will not end his love affair with Facu. In my opinion, he would get more production with Reed or Forbes with Bones.

Even though Bones had 0 points he seemed to have a lot of chemistry with Forbes already (they were chatting and laughing during stoppages). I think Malone would get better results with just the two of them and not the super-small-ball lineup he ran with the two of them and Facu. The Grizz ate them alive when he did that.

Bones is now the 5th guard - he needs to show he can score consistently and improve on defense ( not a criticism but a reality that the transition from a mid major A10 to NBA is a BIG step that anyone would take a few years to perfect ) (look at Toppin's development as a parallel)
The key is to keep hustling and working hard every day which Bones seems to be willing to do
Bones had a window recently to real cement his minutes at that 18-22 minutes but his shooting (his strength )- was pretty woeful over that stretch and given FACU is not an offensive threat the Nugs had to go out and obtain Forbes as a proven long-range shooter to stay in playoff contention and bide time until Murray returns
Forbes ain;t the ultimate solution (or else he would be a starter with past teams still) but a band-aid until Murray returns (IMHO)
Bones is still a two year project for the Nugs and I doubt they will waver in their plans for him (would not surprise me that teams have tried to trade for him as the Nugs looked to improve their roster with recent trades)
FACU (IMHO) gets more run now because he can be trusted in man to man defense , which Malone values but No doubt Bones has far more offensive Skills than FACU and more NBA potential (FACU just has 10 years of professional ball experience more than Bones)
Go Bones

That’s something else. A Detroit fan was heckling a ref, which resulted in a team technical for the Pistons and Bones shooting a free throw. The fan was escorted out by security.
