I hope Bones doesn’t get traded. Looking at their roster and contracts, he’s got a future there as a main piece if the Nuggets feel the same way. He could be a 6th man and still play 26+ mins per game. Think Jamal Crawford.

If he continues to muscle up and improve on defense, they don’t need a KCP type in the starting lineup. Bones’ inexperience and defense was the reason they brought him in.
Jamal Crawford played for 9 or 10 teams in his career. Not a slight on him, he was a lights out ball handler and scoring machine at times, but he might be not the best example for why a team should retain Bones. The biggest challenge for him is similar to Bones’, defensive liability due to his build— very easy to isolate and beat up.

I’d be good with Bones going to another team where he can play more (and hopefully have earlier starting games), but let him first try to help the Nuggets win a championship this season.

I've said for a long time I thought Bones was Immanuel Quickley 2.0. If you've paid attention, Quickley has developed himself into a very good defensive player through hard work in the gym (getting stronger) and just determination to be a better defender. Quickley and Bones have similar bodies and games. If Quickley can do it, no reason Bones can't.

the OP made a comparison of Bones to Crawford as to why he shouldn’t be traded. My reply was that Crawford is not a great comp to make the case of why the Nuggs should not trade him, as he was traded often despite being an offensive dynamo. That’s all.

I know. I was just offering IMO was closer comp. Also, that Bones could certainly develop into a sound defender in spite of his size a la Quickley.
