When I was a boy my Dad worked for Eastern Air Lines in Orlando. One day he took me to the airport and there was a Lockheed Constellation sitting on the tarmac. Dad took me out to the plane and as we walked around the front of one of the most beautiful aircraft ever buiit I looked up at the strut and it seemed so tall (had to be as the props were 12 ft in diameter). The aluminum skin shined as it reflected the sunlight. We boarded the plane and the pilot invited us into the cockpit. I sat in the pilot’s seat and was overwhelmed by the guages and switches. The pilot and Dad chatted, but I was in heaven.
