VCU announced on Tuesday the hiring of former VCU Final Four standout Brandon Rozzell as Director of Student-Athlete Development. Rozzell had been playing overseas for nearly 10 years, most recently in Cyprus.
Rozzell replaces Lamont Moore, who held the position for 2 years before taking a job as Director of Operations at Bucknell. The Student-Athlete Development position at VCU is focused on helping players develop off the court, including leadership development, and assisting with VCU’s community service efforts in the Richmond area.
A Richmond native, and appropriately dubbed “The Mayor”, Rozzell was a standout at VCU all four years from 2007 to 2011. He ranks 8th in school history in 3 pointers with 193. His performance in the NCAA tournament in 2011 led VCU...
