I don't think Rhoades is going anywhere, at least not this year, but I'm seeing his name being circulated for a few p5 jobs.

Hoopdirt gives it 50 to 1 odds that Boston College will lure him away: https://hoopdirt.com/boston-college-mens-basketball-coaching-search-odds/.

A Penn State writer lists a few candidates, and guess who is at the top of his list? https://www.pennlive.com/pennstate/...-list-of-potential-head-coach-candidates.html. In fairness to this person, he admits that VCU is a better job than Penn State, which was a refreshing change.

Why even make the thread then? Mike would be incredibly foolish to even consider any job at a P5 school on the level of BC or Penn State. He’d be fired and back at a mid-major in 4 years. It happens to every coach at all of those dumpster fire P5 schools. You can’t succeed at certain schools in certain conferences. Ask Fordham...

Coach seems to be a man of his words. When he was introduced after accepting the job, I think he in his speech he said he was home.

At least wait for the season to be over first.

Because I thought it would be convenient for those of us who are interested in keeping up with the rumors involving Mike Rhoades.

Mike is not leaving VCU any time soon. Believe me, Jodie would kill him. The rumor mongers can list him all they wish, but he’s not leaving. He’ll be the coach when Ace has his senior night at VCU.
Yeah, I know he's not leaving. I said that in my first post.

That said, it is always nice to know we have a coach that P5 programs may want.
Thanks! That's why I started the thread (not to suggest coach would actually leave). We have a great coach and a great program that others envy. I plan to enjoy it.

VCU is a better job than Penn State for this reason .... let's say all teams are bunched into A, B, C ....VCU is at the tip top of B, while Penn State is toward the lower end of A ... Being on the high end of B makes for happier players, coaches and fans .... being middle to lower in A breeds frustration .... in each case, Capel, Grant, Smart and Wade left a Top of B job for solid but difficult A, with more pressure and many more certain losses. Wake Forest is a prime example of the A frustrations - pretty confident the Deacons would shine in B ...VCU is a classic Top of B program and the fans love it ... at least until toward end of year when the polls and Net expose meandering along the outside rail vs trading paint in the fast lane..
