If we use the 2022 Preseason Rankings this is how it would work based on the top six conference champs and the top 6 at-large teams
1 Alabama (54) 1,566 (SEC Champ)
2 Ohio State (6) 1,506 (Big 10 Champ)
3 Georgia (3) 1,455 (#1 at large)
4 Clemson 1,292 (ACC Champ)
5 Notre Dame 1,242 (#2 at large)
6 Texas A&M 1,212 (#3 at large)
7 Utah 1,209 (PAC 12 Champ)
8 Michigan 1,203 (#4 at large)
9 Oklahoma 956 (Big XII Champ)
10 Baylor 884 (#5 at large)
11 Oregon 831 (#6 at-large)
12 Oklahoma State 814
13 NC State 752
14 Southern California 711
15 Michigan State 631
16 Miami (FL) 476
17 Pittsburgh 383
18 Wisconsin 365
19 Arkansas 348
20 Kentucky 332
21 Ole Miss 324
22 Wake Forest 303
23 Cincinnati 265 (AAC Champ)
24 Houston 263
25 BYU 234
My only Question would be... Would conference champs be 1-6 & at larges 7-12 like in most sports? So based on preseason polls... you'd have
First Round
(12) Oregon (6th at large) @ (5) Oklahoma
(11) Baylor (5th at large) @ (6) Cincy
(10) Michigan (4th at large) @ (7) Georgia (1st at large)
(9) Texas A&M (3rd at large) @ (8) Notre Dame (2nd at large)
Byes
(1) Alabama (gets winner of 8 vs 9 Matchup)
(2) Ohio State (gets winner of 7 vs 10 matcup)
(3) Clemson (gets winner of 6 vs 11 Matchup)
(4) Utah (gets winner of 5 vs 12 Matchup)
OR would it solely be based on rankings?,,,, So based on preseason polls... you'd have
First Round
(12) Cincy @ (5) ND
(11) Oregon @ (6) Texas A&M
(10) Baylor @ (7) Utah
(9) Oklahoma @ (8) Michigan
