The elder Edwards, out of New York City, was among VCU's most dynamic, open-floor point guards ... always on the go-go-go; set assists records for the Rams under coach Chuck Noe. He was first signed by Benny Dees, then re-recruited by Noe after Dees left to become assistant coach at Western Kentucky ... so sorry about his son. VCU still looking for that elusive second-generation Ram.

Agreed. According to recruiting guru Howard Garfinkle Dave was one of the best PG's coming out of high school that year. Not just NYC but nationally. He was a very dynamic lead guard. Fun to watch.

Sorry to hear about his son. RIP.

There may some confusion .... both the elder Dave Edwards, who played for VCU in early 70s, and his son, Dave Jr., have died. The Rams' Dave Ewards died this past May. Gerald Henderson told Chip Noe and Chip told me.

What is Chip Noe up to? Still selling time shares?
