One other tidbit regarding the Big 12. Don't be surprised to see TCU join the PAC 12. Both sides have had discussions in the past, but TCU's religious affiliation has held them back in the past. TCU has been working hard recently to distance itself from that religious affiliation. If the PAC 12 were to expand, the state of Texas would be very attractive to them. Both TCU and Houston would bring the PAC 12 huge TV markets in the central time zone.

I think TCU is a lot more likely than Baylor.

Of the 9 ACC football games yesterday, the leading attendance was as expected Clemson with 81,000. Second was Va Tech with WVU, 60,000.(In Morgantown); Duke / Northwestern, 12,300. Just saying.

I think the power conferences are pretty close to being sorted now, and I don't see what incentive the Big 12 has to dilute their brand even more with AAC's just to go to 14.

It also sounds like a good chance Colorado St and Air Force could leave if you read into the MWC Comish's statements.

Those are the top 2 largest budget schools in the MWC. If they leave that would put a lot of pressure on Boise and San Diego St and if they want to get left behind, especially SDSU who has less hope of ever getting into the Big12 pipedream.

The next obvious target that has been mentioned is Army, and with Navy already in the AAC it seems like a good chance they come as a football only like Navy and make the AAC the academy league if Air Force comes, and really help retain the media value with 3 national schools. The AAC commish has said he expects no drop in TV revenue and he was a former ESPN executive who is connected. Also ESPN has an interest to help the AAC rebuild at the MWC's expense which isn't an ESPN league.

Army as football only would open up a spot for basketball counterpart like the Wichita St/ Navy combo. I think the obvious focus will be to look towards the A10 to fill that. St. Louis with it's history in old CUSA with several of the schools would be a likely first call.

NC State had a sold out crowd of 56,919 for their home game Saturday against Furman. NC State home games are usually sellouts, or close to sellouts.

Not sure what your point is regarding the WVU/VA Tech game. WVU did not sell out the previous week. Also, the VA Tech game probably was/is one of the top three home games for WVU this year, along with Iowa State and Texas.

-UAB has had great program over the years, and they just hired a 53 year old Alum coach in Andy Kennedy who has a great track record and already has them as a projected NCAA bubble team this year. He will likely be there the next 10 to 15 years as well, they are set up well IMO.

-Air Forces 1st year new coach is actually their old coach. He's had success at AF before and the last season he coached there before returning he had an NCAA at large team and left good players. He's about the only coach to crack the code there.

Eh, Joe Scott only had one winning season during his previous stint at Air Force, though they did have an NCAA tournament team that year. I'm not sure they'd be very strong in the AAC.

Yeah but no one had ever won there in modern times until he did, and he had an at large team and he left players that won the next 3 years as well when he was gone. I'd call that a successful tenure he helped establish. I don't expect much of anything in basketball from them but they are must add for brand and TV money, and their budget. The other two programs are actually good though and are both in the top 56 this year on the 144 previews on your page. UAB #56 and CSU has yet to turn up. UAB with a coach that is likely going to be there a while as an alum looks very solid.
