Yup... in the Sunbelt you got Coastal Carolina who been good the last few years.... App State who is always sneaky & can upset anyone on a given date. Louisiana & ULM are sneaky good too.
That sounds like the same kind of argument that could have been (and was) made against VCU moving from the CAA to the A10 or that would/will be made about us moving from the A10 to the Big East.

I would need to study it but in basketball I think the Sun Belt is on par with the CAA or better.
The CAA has had more multi-bid seasons in the past 20 years (3) than the Sun Belt (just 2), but the Sun Belt is generally a one-bid league. In basketball, CAA to Sun Belt seems like a lateral move.

The Sun Belt has not had more than 2 NCAA tournament bids in a season since 1986, and their last multi-bid season was 2013. The CAA's last multi-bid season was...well, you know.

The A-10 has not been a one-bid league since 2005, and I think that was documented earlier in this thread.

There is also mention out there that the CAA may be going after UNCG and splitting into North/South divisions in order to become more regional. Lot's of speculation right now. I find it hard to believe two schools from the CAA (Elon and C of C) would leave the CAA for the Southern Conference while one school (UNCG) would leave the Southern Conference for the CAA.

Way too many rumors being floated out there right now.

The interests of the league aren't necessarily aligned with the interests of the teams when it comes down to conference realignment. If a conference folds, a commissioner and her staff will be out of a job.

You lost me on that comment. I'm talking about a two for one swap between the CAA and the Southern Conference makes absolutely no sense at all. If the Southern Conference lures C of C and Elon away from the CAA, there is no way UNCG is then going to jump to a much weaker CAA from the Southern Conference. Right now, there is way too much speculation out there that has not been verified.

now we really need to get out of the habit of putting these jokers on the schedule so often

Waa just getting at that the leadership of the CAA and Southern Conference are in a tug-of-war and probably doing everything (including fueling rumors) to maintain their conference.

I don't think the Sunbelt will be any worse than CUsa though.

I like having old dirty on the schedule. It's good to keep some rivalries alive and going to their gym is an easy road trip for those of us in Richmond and, being honest, it's a really nice place to watch a game.

As long as they still find their bball program relatively well, I think we should definitely keep the home and home.

The new Sun Belt will probably be at least a little stronger than the new C-USA.

I'm a bit shocked that ODU only has a $260 million endowment. VCU is up to $2 billion, or $2.5 including MCV.
