I guess Liberty is thinking it will be too hard to schedule a complete season as an independent moving forward? Or maybe they think it's a better launching pad to greener pastures? Absolute dump of a conference...
Sounds appropriate for them.

This entire episode is sort of like a steer taking a dump in a pasture. That’s what Bevo did. The hung pile sets off a chain reaction that has a tremendous effect on insects, invertebrates, and microorganisms, and even creates localized micro environment. The ODUs and Liberties are able to subsist off the waste of a Texas, like dung beetles. I would rather watch a dung beetle roll its dung balls away to its hole.

CUSA is a garbage conference with a bizarre pastiche of far flung schools....

I've seen congealed vomit that is more interesting to look at.

I just find it all ironic with some karma mixed in. That is my VCU fandom creeping into my brain. I remember the Metro break-up with teams flocking to the C-USA and then breaking off not long after to other conferences leaving it in shambles. Also, the Sun Belt being a shadow of what it used to be.

For JMU, it actually seems like a good fit with lots of natural rivalries, App st, ga st ga southern, ODU, Marshall. Though It would be equally interesting if that same conference was 1AA instead of 1A. Those teams are always going to be second class citizens in1A. I really don’t see the point at all. The ways things are going the big leagues will continue to consolidate power and pull even further away.

I think most of the sun belt was 1AA a cup of coffee ago. Is it REALLY a D1 football conference?

I love reading these message board and hearing/reading news and trends! If Middle Tenn. goes to the MAC I will be so happy and having Western along is great to hear!

And for the record I liked JMU slightly more that I did [email protected]

They will never be a factor in D1 football again
Look at what is happening to Cincinnati. It is just a pipe dream for non P5s to compete for a national title in football. Previous want to be title contenders from non-P5 schools....Boise State and Central Florida will vouch for that too.

As far as football goes they better enjoy their opportunity to go for an FCS national championship because from here on out it will be competing for a .500 record and a shot at the Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl.

Tell that to Coastal Carolina. Which, by the way, is in the Sun Belt Conference.

And in reality Alabama would beat Cincinnati by 40
Ha! Yeah but we will never know. Everyone said Oklahoma would crush Boise when they had Peterson at running back. Boise pulled it off but yeah I agree.

Moving up is not about winning a national championship. It's all about the "Benjamins". Prior to the new contract extension, Sun Belt schools were getting $100,000 each annually from the ESPN contract. JMU might have gotten an annual Christmas ham from the CAA TV contract.
