Forced to be reseated in a non-reseating year????

I just pay the minimum amount for season tickets. The cheapest seats locations aren't that bad, considering the Stu is small, and I'm happy. Sure I can probably get em cheaper buying individual game tickets but I consider it supporting the program, plus it's just easier to have tickets to every game in the same seats.

I'd be mad too if I donated way more though, as the better seat areas are very pricey.
The better seats definitely cost more than they “should.” That’s the case at every school (basketball and football) that’s competing at a high level. Go buy good season tickets at a middling P5 football program and see what you have to pay for the donation and tickets. That’s part of the process everywhere. This isn’t unique to VCU.

Yeah, I paid over 300 for a single ticket to a UGA football game this fall 🤣

That’s fine, but this new policy was made clear in the emails from the athletic department. It was clear on the web page where you make your donation. And it has been mentioned many times on this message board. I’m not sure how it got past you. And I’m not sure why you would think there should be different rules for you than for every other VCU ticket holder.

If you don’t care about having tickets anymore or continuing with your long time seats, then maybe this is the excuse you need to cut the cord. But if you just overlooked the change (which is not their fault) and still want your seats, then don’t be stubborn about it. Admit your oversight and try to rectify the problem.
There is a regular poster who is a CC member, pays $1750 and tickets are in section 6. How can that be?

I’ve paid over $2000 for 2 UNC/Duke basketball tickets in the Dean Dome on the upper level. It was senior night for Tyler Hansbrough and Danny Green plus the last game for Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington. UNC won the game and went on to win the national championship, so it was worth it. And it was a great experience to take my father to, so it was worth every penny.

The price is all relative to your expectations and experience. Getting really good UNC football season tickets cost me about the same as getting really good VCU basketball season tickets. And that was a decade ago for the football tickets in what was a 60,000 seat stadium.

$1,750 annually is the CC minimum donation. It used to be $1,000 annually. If you are a CC member, then you are only required to pay the minimum at the Black and Gold Society level, which was just raised to $1,750 last year.

Are you in section 6 with a donation of $1750?

Then I will asked to be moved from section 4 to section 6.

They will not move you. You have to maintain your original seats. If you move, then you forfeit your CC member benefits and will have to go through reseating with the general population. I have also been told that if I do not renew any of my seats, then I can't get them back down the road as CC member seats.

Which is why I’m advising him not to be stubborn and take a chance that he’ll lose his seats. It seems like a shortsighted move that he’ll regret.

I would think a CC member would know the rules after 25 years, but I guess that makes me less surprised that he didn’t realize that season ticket purchases has been moved up this year.

My life does not circle around VCU basketball. I am old, family and friends are more important to me. I came very close not to renew this year.

Okay then. It sounds like this is the perfect excuse you were looking for not to continue getting season tickets. But you probably should have just not donated this year and saved the money. You could have used that money to buy occasional single game tickets for the next 4-5 years. But this isn’t on the AD. Whether you disagree with the new timing of season ticket purchases or not, it was made clear a couple months ago.
