Generally speaking I think it's a good idea to try out a variety of different beds before committing to a particular sleeping arrangement. Best to make sure it's the right, ah... fit.

I mean if they are open to all kinds of variety of uhhh sleeping in the bed everything should be ok. They don’t have to know every way of sleeping. They can learn err adapt to different sleeping patterns.
