No details of the exact details on tournament names but I heard this.....

Ugh I don’t know how to feel. On one hand I love playing in these tournaments and love the Chance to play p5 teams. On the other, I have always felt we are cursed at these things. :/
Cursed, come on? We always go 1-2, unless it is a two game tourney. Then we go 0-2. That’s our move. LOL.

Just an attempt at a little humor after the humbling butt-kicking last night.

Not doubting you or your source, but I'd be pretty shocked if basketball tournaments were making those kind of plans five years out. Next season's tournaments are still a work in progress and not even a hint of news from 2019-20 on.

I'm sure they're batting around teams long-term, but would be shocked if it went any further than the casual discussion stage, particularly for the tournaments in the 2020s. Who knows who'll be good or bad five years from now?

It doesn’t look like the Maui Invitational has been set past 2018 so I would be shocked if we knew we were playing there in 5 years. I’d be happy if it played out like that though.

Last year Wade said we knew the next 3 already with others in the works, so they do plan pretty far in advance even if they are not finalized.

Last night, I heard that these will be the next five holiday tournaments for VCU. I provided the official links for viewing pleasure but VCU is NOT in any of them.

I am reading your “them” wrong?
“these will be the next five holiday tournaments for VCU”
“but VCU is NOT in any of these tournaments”
Or did you mean links?

I fixed it. I meant the links do not mention VCU since they have not been announced yet.

Well, you now have inside information.

I'd love to know how true this is. I'd be SHOCKED to see us invited back to Maui (and even Atlantis) so soon. If these are true though, then it's good to see. With the exception of the Emerald Coast Classic, you can't get much better tournaments than these.

Because of many factors, tournament schedules are set several seasons out. Scheduling it not something that people sit down at the end of the year and say ok, who are we going to play next year. Yes most teams some "open" slots to fill but not an entire schedule. Also, with more and more preseason and holiday tournaments, tournament directors are looking to fill slots sooner.
