I feel good about what Rhoades has done this year. I don’t feel good about the AD still. No less going on Tv saying they are planning trips for students and fans and then doubling down saying details will be coming and then complete radio silence. Dude should have just said nothing.

Saying you will look into something or that you would announce something if you could secure it is different from saying "we are planning a trip".

Things won't always work out but all you can ask is for the guy to try.

It was the same in 2016. That time I helped organize it with them and he was all in and then on the final hour backed out. Again the only reason he did it before was Shaka made him. But again this isn’t just about that. The dude just shows a trend of not valuing the fans except his golf buddies. He literally runs around on Twitter finding criticism to try to say folks use to support him why not now? He’s very much aware of the unpopularity.

27-7 record, A-10 regular season and tournament champion. I am glad to know you feel good about what COACH Rhoades has done this year. It wonderful to read you finally stopped, for the moment, criticizing him.
I literally complimented them all thorough the A10 tourney but ok. Not sure where you’ve been.

So you didn't criticize him at all throughout the SEASON? Yes, the started terribly, 5-4. They were 22-3 after that start. It takes you until the A-10 tournament to be complimentary?

So what? I complimented him plenty through the last month and gave him lots of praise during the A10 tourney. So what’s your deal? We have to praise the team all the time even when we’re not doing well?

I simply support the team in good times and bad. I hate losing just like you. I just try not to throw anyone under the bus in bad times.

Cool. My criticism early in the season especially was valid given how last year ended. This has been harped on a 1000x. That and the “Half of RN wanted Rhoades fired narrative”. Sorry but honestly feels like you are on some “you criticized Rhoades. To the gallows.” solo campaign currently. We turned it around with a tremendous run with the occasional stupid stumble and then finished fantastically. We made the NCAAs which is always my main goal. Anything else is gravy. Maybe some others will disagree. Oh and trust me I supported us in our bad times. 2008 I watched us lose to W&M in the semis on a lay up with 2 second left. I was at the NIT game where we almost came back from 20 down against UAB in an arena that was half full but probably still one of the loudest VCU games. 2010 I was live for the whole CBI run when most went screw this season/Shaka sucks. I got plenty other examples so really don’t need a lecture about supporting my team in bad times.

We got to postseason the only way we could which is good and bad. Not going to win the conference tournament every year.
Being in the A10 is our biggest problem. Johns was a great portal get but Rhoades is hit and miss otherwise. And knitting a team together is a weakness and the most needed skill for a coach to have. The overall quality of A10 coaches is going up so competing for that one slot gets harder every year.
So my evaluation has not changed.
Nor has my evaluation of you. You have no evaluation skills.

Please when you reply only speak/support your own opinions/feelings. Lastly, do not assume that I had other motives when I commented/replied to your original comment. My last reply was to you when you asked "what's my deal"?

Well you pop in here out of nowhere and call me out by saying glad to see you stop criticizing Rhoades for a moment and then go on some rant about that I criticized all season when literally the only thing I said about Rhoades was I felt good about what he did this season. Last I checked I gave him lots of praise this month and simply said I still expected NCAAs for this to be a successful season. I gave nothing but praise during the A10 tourney. Sooo yeah I have to assume you were looking for a confrontation of some sort when you drop in saying “glad to see you can stop criticizing, that’s all you did all season, and support the team during bad times like me.” (Especially when my post was mainly not directed at Rhoades) If that’s not stirring well yea.

You guys act like you can't be critical of the team/coach's performance and still support the team. I've been here since the JD Barnett years and I'm still here. I've been a donor, season ticket holder, been to both NIT and NCAA games. I was in the building when Maynor hit the shot against Duke and was in the Coliseum during Sonny Smith's nine win season.

I'm not directing this specifically at you and I'm not going to speak for others, but if anybody questions my support of the team because I discussed the need for changes if hypothetically we miss going to the dance again this year and if we continue to miss going in future years, quite frankly you can go kicks rocks. Raising legit concerns is not "throwing anyone under the bus" in my opinion. People can agree or disagree on points of view, and that's fine. That's what this forum is for.

Kudos to everyone who continued to have unconditional faith in MR after how last season ended, how this season began, and after some disappointing moments in previous years. I was with you for 5 years and one month until around last December. MR did a great job turning the season around, he absolutely got the job done (which is all that mattered to me) and I couldn't be more proud that he proved my lack of faith unwarranted. But I am getting a little sick of people acting like the concerns were unwarranted or premature and that anyone was "thrown under the bus." And yes, if we go through another period where we stink I'll be critical again...and still support the team.

Now, excuse me while I go back to being hyped about our NCAA match up against St. Mary's.

But if the overall quality of A10 coaches is getting better, doesn't that mean some will coach their teams to an at large, thus making the A10 a multi-bid league again?

Honestly, I don't know why I'm bothering.

You're a better one than me. I've given up a while ago.
