Is Havoc dead? Should it be killed off?

Coach Rhoades' defensive system is much different than Coach Smart's defensive system. Wade even brought that up in the presser after the LSU game. Our defense has been well ahead of our offense the past 2 years.
But one of the issues is, the fast paced defense leads to sloppy fast paced offense.

It’s not that it is a bad defensive philosophy, its just impractical for the NBA. Some of the reasons you don’t see NBA teams run it, is the games are longer and they play 82 games, many of which are back to back....it is not sustainable. Another reason, is they are elite professionals, literally the best of the best in the world, so even the weakest link on the team is exceptional and significantly better than all but a few college players in any given year in terms of IQ, ball handling, shot making and obviously experience. Finally, they practice a lot more.
True points but any D1 team is full of top notch players. There’s a reason most teams don’t run this style.

Because it is hard, tough to play, tough to coach, tough to recruit for.....takes smart, long and tough athletes bought into team focused play. It is intricate and physically taxing...unless you commit to it, you will be terrible at it—its a weakest link approach.

It also hardly ever works against good teams.

Havoc is a a really strong brand and still fits the uptempo style, focus on bringing in fresh legs and pressure D. I don't think VCU needs to be an all out full court press team for the name to fit. We should be happy with being known as the Havoc school and embrace it.

I have family members who wear the Havoc t-shirts I sent them and they love it.

Maybe we should be called "chaos" like the Spiders or Colby Covington...any takers? Didn't think so :)
