This is what I love about VCURN. You can read a total shìtpost one minute, then an unexpected Wynton Marsalis reference the next.

I haven’t thought about Marsalis since my failed trumpet experiment in sixth grade. Thank goodness Cobain came around and steered me toward guitar.

But I could play a mean hot cross buns.

Well, my pal Wynton throwin down some knowledge around the 40 second mark....Also @buckwheat ? It's never too late to pick your horn up again. That muscle memory is still there....it'll just take weeks and weeks of consistent practice :D

My friend Eric was the head guy in the charge of Jazz & Blues at the Lincoln Center in NYC. He was also PR director for Wynton. I take his brother to all the games with me and I have stayed with Eric when I go to the A10 tournament. @Ram14 mentioned to me that he was taking his lovely wife on a special trip to NYC. I put him in touch with Eric and he got a hook up to a show. Eric is a VCU Ram and he texts me all the time about our team. I am sure I will get a text sometime today from him.

Was such an incredible evening that we had due to you @AlienAiden and of course Eric. We sat in box seats on the stage and Wyton warmed up next to my shoulder, I was next to greatness. Joey Alexanger also performed that night and added to a perfect experience, Lots of VCU connections including his dad teaching at VCU and discovering Loston Harris and moving him from drums to piano.

You tell Eric that I have never forgotten and still offer him a ticket anytime!!!!

I appreciate this Board during game time. I'm a season ticket holder, but I tore my achilles in November right after the season started. A few days after the Legends Classic, it popped (literally). Walking a great distance or up and down stairs are not recommended so long as I am wearing this boot. So, game time means sitting in front of my tv. My better half and the dog head upstairs. I sign on here to read your comments, insights, gripes, and add a few of my own. It does not replicate the Stu, but its a good second place. So, don't cry for me Argentina. Life is good.

Have you tried contacting the athletic department and asking for an accommodation? I wonder if they couldn't get you one of those folding chair seats at the top of the west side of the arena.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have and it's been offered. And after this week when I see the Dr, I may take them up on it. But I am trying to stay aff the leg as much as possible because rest may be the best medicine here.

Sounds like you're doing the right thing. Get well soon!

Thankful for (most) of you knuckleheads on here! I have been around since the initial migration back in 2009 and on CAA Zone for a couple of years before that. I use Twitter for a lot of basketball news, updates, discussion, etc. particularly during a game. There are many posters that I like and appreciate on here that are not on there or I am not connected with on there. I will always come back here because of the community.

Agreed on all that, especially the last part.
