I don't know about any of you but I think he has proven himself incapable of locking down a quality coach. Until we get some stability at the coaching position we've reached our upper limit as a program. We are now in full blown rebuilding mode as an entire recruiting class is going to pull out while we graduate five seniors. I think we can safely assume multiple sophomores may leave as well.

Anyone else think it's time for a change at the top?

Sleazy E is the guy that passed out contract extensions with more $ for coach and program every year

Guys left but you can't say its because he didn't try

Only so much the guy can do.

I commented on another thread about this, but it bothers me (and my wife) that Ed is ALWAYS all over the program. Sits right next to the bench during home games. Sits right behind the head coach during road games. Follows the team to and from the locker room. Etc.

Maybe that's totally normal for an AD (I can't pick any other ADs out of a lineup). But it always struck me as odd and possibly a bit unnerving for head coach (I sure as heck wouldn't want MY boss constantly up my a$$). Could that have factored in?

Either way, 3 head coaches in such a short timespan...maybe he's part of the problem...?

Lol... crazy... He's proven the exact opposite. You want to lock down a coach, go be a U of R fan.

Also, if you think the entire team is going to leave... lol.. Ya, I'm sure Vann, Jenkins and Doughty are going to want to burn another year.

I still totally expect McLaughlin to probably get the BC gig, and that possibly factored into Wade's decision also.

It is my understanding that Ed will be stepping down as of June.

Someone else posted this today. Given that BC is now looking for a new AD, I assumed he was leaving for that job.

If Ed is planning on leaving, then he has no business hiring our next coach. We need to bring Mike Ellis in tomorrow morning and put him in charge of the hire. Then make him AD as soon as feasible.

On another thread someone, I couldn't tell you who now, said that when Shaka left Ed asked Shaka's opinion on who to hire, Wade or Rhodes. Shaka said Wade, but Roads if we wanted longevity. Maybe it was time to choose longevity. At this time I don't know enough to say whether the AD is the problem or not. I'm not an insider for sure. But I think it is time to hire for longevity. Whether that is Rhodes or whoever. Not saying just take anyone, but get a commitment to stay at least 5 years with some kind of incentive/disincentive that makes it VERY, VERY hard not to live up to that commitment.
