To all of your points I agree. I won't regurgitate what Mistachill just posted but I will subtweet it.It wasnt the first time he was hit in the face. Davidson was rough but the refs didnt call much our way. At one point Johns was hooked around the neck and got no call.
Look if there was a game he could have gone off this was it.
So no it probably wasnt just the one whack to the face. However, I dont know about you I dont like getting hit in my face intentionally or not. Finally, getting hitting the face while playing ball may not be intentional but it might signal that the person was reckless.
Cut the guy some slack.
I'm going to assume based on your non response response and your interactions with certain comments that you fall into the "that was intentional" and "haven't really ever played competitive sports" category. Could be wrong, just a guess though.
If I'm not mistaken, didn't Shaka prohibit players from being on social media during the season? To all of your points I agree. I won't regurgitate what Mistachill just posted but I will subtweet it.
You're right, getting hit in the face sucks no matter what, but just because it happens doesn't mean it was intentional. I swear there are posters here who have never played a sport in their life making comments about this. People get hit, shoved, elbowed, bruised, suffer broken bones, sprains, everything all the time in sports and 99.999999% of the time, it's an accident. We all know when something is intentional, and that CLEARLY wasn't at all. Things happen.
I can't cut a guy slack who has game in and game out shown his true colors as someone who can't follow rules and doesn't respect other players or refs. You can't be reckless and unhinged and then all of the sudden turn around and play the victim card, that's not how life works. All actions have consequences, positive or negative. He has made a lot of bad decisions, on and off the court. He has a reputation. There is no denying that. When your actions are to the point where you are costing your team games, there is a big problem and that is a personal problem. He is a young kid and needs guidance and clearly, he hasn't gotten much of it anywhere.
Your assumptions here are the issue. They are many and go beyond anything any one of us in here are in any way qualified to make. Your post to which I chose to reply was a total crokcapoopie. How do you claim to know what kind of guidance any person has had along their path in life. You choose regularly here assuming a LOT about and degrading coach and players alike by claiming experienced expertise about their mental/emotional condition, perhaps try cloaking yourself in that "needs guidance and clearly, he hasn't gotten much of it anywhere". Short of trolling the forums here, why are you choosing to be an embarrassment in here?I'm going to assume
i just watched that full clip... almost forgot how could that show was
He makes a solid point in jest, Cohen always had a knack for doing just that.i just watched that full clip... almost forgot how could that show was
Had to be restrained? Or teammate guided him calmly towards the VCU bench and coach kept contact with him to encourage and support?1) He tried to get at the refs and had to be restrained.
2) Nobody said he's not justified in being upset.
3) Free country, he can express whatever he wants to express. But perhaps he should let his head coach address it unless someone can point out when in the past a sophomore basketball player addressing an officiating issue publicly via social media has ever yielded positive results.
4) If the choices are either go to social media or go at the officials, and those are the only options, that in itself is a problem.
I believe he did, but that was enough years ago that the world is different now. Players are worried about their brands, and the NIL changes have made that even more prominent. There's no way they could do that now. Recruiting would probably take a serious hit.If I'm not mistaken, didn't Shaka prohibit players from being on social media during the season?
Case in point, he doesn't do that at Marquette and he didn't do it at Texas.I believe he did, but that was enough years ago that the world is different now. Players are worried about their brands, and the NIL changes have made that even more prominent. There's no way they could do that now. Recruiting would probably take a serious hit.
No, he didn't have to be restrained from physically assaulting ref. But he definitely wanted to go argue with the ref and required a teammate to redirect him back to the bench. Not sure I would describe it has calmly, you can watch if for yourself and give your opinion. But if you noticed, on the bench he kinda slapped Scott's hand off of him when he was trying to talk to him and threw a towel in the air.Had to be restrained? Or teammate guided him calmly towards the VCU bench and coach kept contact with him to encourage and support?
Yeah he prohibited them from posting on social media.... but the players still were on it, reading everything people were saying. If I'm not mistaken, didn't Shaka prohibit players from being on social media during the season?
So coaches are now powerless in prohibiting social media posts regarding officiating or anything that could affect the team? I totally get NIL and branding.I believe he did, but that was enough years ago that the world is different now. Players are worried about their brands, and the NIL changes have made that even more prominent. There's no way they could do that now. Recruiting would probably take a serious hit.
