JMAC came into this season with 3 years of eligibility. He then got the extra year that everyone else got. Now he is up for a medical red shirt. Does the NCAA give him one or both years?Three years, if he wants them.
I would assume 3 more years of eligibility. This is basically a year that doesn’t count. Can’t imagine a medical redshirt would apply to a year that doesn’t countJMAC came into this season with 3 years of eligibility. He then got the extra year that everyone else got. Does anyone know the rule for next year and roster capacity?JMac hasn’t played a minute, he would have been able to RS regardless. Moot point though, this is a free year for RS and Seniors anyway.
as of this date the major restriction remains 13 scholarship players - in basketball you cannot split scholarships among multiple players (who knows if the NCAA will provide any relief because of COVID)Does anyone know the rule for next year and roster capacity?
Yeah, more so was just wondering what the rule is gonna be for scholly capacity. If everyone wanted to return, they could, but then a coach would have to make tuff calls on allocation of the 13.as of this date the major restriction remains 13 scholarship players - in basketball you cannot split scholarships among multiple players (who knows if the NCAA will provide any relief because of COVID)
as far as roster capacity - not sure there any limits in D-1 (nba has limits but not college) - you can have as many non scholarship players as the coach wants
hope this helps
This year’s seniors will not count against next year’s limit. So if our two seniors were to return, we could have 15 scholarship playersYeah, more so was just wondering what the rule is gonna be for scholly capacity. Yes.That’s crazy. I team like Wisconsin has 4-5 very key seniors. Could they have 18 next year??
