VCU forward Marcus Santos-Silva has announced through social media on Monday that he will be transferring from VCU. His departure comes after a recent announcement that he would be entering himself as a NBA draft candidate without an agent. It now appears that he will use his extra year of NCAA eligibility elsewhere.
In a post on his Instagram account, he said “My decision has nothing to do with the team or coaches, they’re always going to be family to me” … “I’m just doing what I feel is the best option and decision for my future.”
Santos-Silva was VCU’s leading scorer last season (18-13) where he averaged 12.8 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.
