Kid is a stud and a great example of controlling what you can...effort and attitude.
No one ...none of you ...no where ...no how thought this kid would be this good his junior year. Great story

I enjoyed watching MSS playing his game against the goomoos. He had the biggest smile on his face, his confidence was unbreakable and his spirit was infectious.

Congratulations Marcus on being recognized as A-10 Co-Player of the week. Another well-earned accolade for your hard work and dedication.

Nice to see he had a big game. His production was really dropping like there was no answer to teams focusing on him.

And weekly superlative awards from a mid major conference seem more elusive than NBA MVP. What does someone have to do to get the ribbon outright.

“capped by a 26-point, 22-rebound effort in a quarterfinal victory over Rhode Island in the A–10 tournament”

Nice reporting there!
Huh? The reporter was addressing his sophomore season in that paragraph. I thought it was an excellent article on Marcus.

Just read a claim on Mason’s board that MSS’ dad wanted him to transfer after his freshman season here due to lack of playing time. Does anyone else remember hearing anything like that?

No but like almost everyone he was probably questioning things. Rhoades had just become coach and things were pretty crazy his first season. I think this was addressed in MattRock's interview with Marcus that he posted on the Insider's forum.

First, VCU and 6’7 junior forward Marcus Santos-Silva visited in-state rival George Mason. The Patriots came into this game after an 11-2 start, which was the best start in program history. But after a close 15 minutes, the Rams pulled away. Santos Silva exploded for a 26 point, 12 rebound double-double in front of a couple NBA scouts in attendance — not bad for a player who isn’t in ESPN’s Top 100 Draft Prospects.".
