Two weeks ago, we released our midseason field of 64 projection, after the completion of week seven action. With nine weeks in the books, it’s time for another update. Some notable changes from two weeks ago:

• Arkansas takes over for Vanderbilt as No. 1 national seed.

• Mississippi State, Oregon and Tennessee replace Texas Tech, Ole Miss and Arizona as top-eight seeds.

• Oregon and Stanford replace Oregon State and Miami as hosts.

• Updated bid projections by conference: SEC (nine); ACC (eight); Pac-12 (six); Big 12 (five); Big Ten and Conference USA (four apiece); American, Big West, Sun Belt and WCC (two apiece).

FIRST FIVE OUT:

Kentucky, Creighton, NC State, Dallas Baptist, Clemson

LAST FIVE IN:

Alabama, Baylor, Tulane, San Diego, Louisiana

Pretty surprised about the RPI numbers.....This year's VCU Rams have been head scratchingly inconsistent, so I can neither count them out or say "for sure!" regarding the postseason. Covid junk has already screwed up conference games and who knows how that'll shake out for the A10 seeding....THAT will be the biggest factor about who moves on.
btw....Rams had a nice little win a month ago over now ranked odu....throw in the UVa win and the fact that we'll see them again as super helpful.

Rams get an extremely beatable VMI team tonight at The Diamond at 6:30

Hope they're not too rusty after the Spider series cancellation this past weekend.

There’s a compelling case for VCU to be ranked now with 16 straight wins. Have a better record against top 50 ELO teams then six in the top 25. Are 19th in scoring margin. Have higher ELO then four teams in top 30 and a better road record then 12 of the teams in the top 25.
