No but due to the pandemic the ACC will most likely rely on a heavy conference schedule for their SOS. The ACC teams do not have to worry as much as a non-P5 when it comes to creating a resume.
This is pretty much why I feel like P5s are going to be inclined to pull out of the early season tournaments this year. They’ll cite COVID-19 but if they have an opportunity to avoid NET hits from playing (or losing to) lower conferences, they’ll take it. It helps when the ACC has practically no Q4 teams and few Q3 ones.

The NET system doesn't really work if you only play in conference. It will be hard to choose a tournament field if we make it that far.

As Fiance was saying about NET, SOS is dependent on playing no conference games (and winning).

This year is going to be different. OOC schedules are going to be pieced together. P5s are going to bubble up and play a majority of their games in conference.

P5s may very well do that, but P5s only playing P5s doesn't change basic arithmetic. SOS is based on W/L of opponents. If the P5s don't play a true OOC, they won't have strong conference SOS.

Understand your point but to be clear VCU is not requiring anybody to do anything...if the product isn’t worth the price then don’t buy it. They are giving you the option to opt out without penalty.
Did you see how many seats were empty last year when the team still had a shot at an At Large bid? I know more than 1 long time season ticket holder who are pretty die hard fans say they were not renewing this year.
