VCU (15-4; 8-2 A10) grabs sole possession of first place in the A10 after taking down St. Bonaventure in the revenge game, 67-64.
The season series between the two teams is now split 1-1 with each winning their respective home game.
In the first meeting of the season, VCU was only able to record 14 points in the final 20 minutes.
Tonights game saw VCU match that in the first 6 minutes of the second half.
The Bonnies climbed back to within two points several times, but were never able to get closer as VCU made 5 of their last 6 points on the free throw line.
Vince Williams made 1-2 from the charity stripe with just four seconds left on the game clock to seal the three point win for VCU.
Williams ended the night with a game-high 9 rebounds to go with his 11 points.
The Rams used a 7-0 run out of the under-4 timeout in the first half to roll into the locker room with a 33-26 lead.
Hyland accounted for five of the points in that run and assisted on the dunk from Hason Ward.

Friday's games featured a double-bubble at the top of the A-10. VCU knocked off St. Bonaventure 67-64 to pull within half a game of the Bonnies in the conference race. St. Bonaventure's tournament resume does not have a lot of meat on the bones. Only a win at home over VCU in the teams' first meeting stands out.-----cbssportsline
