It was all Marcus Santos-Silva today in Fairfax as the big man led VCU (12-3, 2-0) to its second straight conference victory.
VCU pounded the ball inside to Santos-Silva all afternoon as he shot 10-14 from the floor, and a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line, en route to game-high totals for both points and rebounds.
His 26 points, 12 rebounds performance notched him his 5th double-double of the season—11th of his career. He also tied a career-high scoring output.

Sometimes they talk about the MSS work ethic as if it was a pleasant surprise upon his arrival and that he was an overweight out of shape guy in high school. If you remember watching high school and AAU film on him you saw his work and saw how he worked so hard on the floor. Even more, I recall that right after his verbal commitment to VCU and (Wade) there was a vdeo put out by him called "Time to get to work" and he was in the gym workinng his butt off on conditioning and drills. He began to transition his body and his game many months before he arrived and if you tracked him you knew he was going to be special. So, not only does revounding translate for high school to college but so do work ethic and obviously character.

Way to go Marcus!!!
