Wait, what did I miss?Didn't like the boos yesterday when he had his tribute to Tre, but each to their own I guess.
When he was paying his tribute to Treveon yesterday some fans were booing.Wait, what did I miss?
They played congratulatory videos on the center court big screens.@Newboy Smart did? Was this during a presser? Or was he at the Stu? A video played?
I didn’t hear that, but I’m not surprised. People need to let poop go. He guided this program to historic milestones and stayed way longer than anyone expected him too. Glad to see him doing well this year. When he was paying his tribute to Treveon yesterday some fans were booing.
I would not be surprised at all if Coach Smart stayed those four seasons due to Treveon.I heard cheers and saw folks stand and cheer, I am sure some idiots booed, but that was not the feel of the arena. Anybody who ever would boo Shaka or even cheer against him unless against us is missing a screw. The man was a class act as was his wife, he was passionate and loyal to VCU even when he finally departed. Said here many times, it tore him up leaving but every advice he received was he had to make that move then. Shaka led us to our greatest joy in the history of the program and then instead of cashing in, he stayed 4 more great seasons. Nah, The Stu honored Tre and overall it gave a warm virtual welcome to Shaka.
I heard him say on the Rams Radio podcast that Coach Smart keeps in touch with him on a weekly basis, still to this day. That's pretty remarkableI would not be surprised at all if Coach Smart stayed those four seasons due to Treveon.
