It’s inexcusable for the broadcast quality to be so poor. It is a reflection of our school and our athletic department. I watch the UR broadcasts (I’m not a spider sympathizer) and just wish ours was that good. As a season ticket holder/donor I wish some of the funds would go to improving this part of our program. It would pay dividends if the folks in the AD’s office “got it”.
They have professional camera operators shooting the games that work for ESPN,, CBS, etc as freelancers. I am friends with several and they say that UR is head and shoulders above VCU when it comes to the in-house broadcast. Their equipment works and they strive to make sure everything is in working order. Typically good productions have crew calls. Communication before and after is important but at VCU it is kind of show up and do it. It falls in the lap of the production manager to make sure everything is the best it can be.fur has Bob Black, so I couldn't tell you how good or bad their audio is. 🤣
