I have an admission to make. On the night of the St. Bonaventure game, the loss can at least be partially pinned on me. I had, earlier in the season, worked out the proper home game and away game shirt rotation. I really got thrown off when I didn't go to the home game against GMU because I was prepping for a colonoscopy. On that night, I mistakenly wore my away game shirt. Clearly what I've learned is that shirt is actually the "watching from home" shirt, because we won by 20. BUT, I accidentally grabbed that same shirt and wore it to the Bonnies game ... and we lost.
Since that egregious error, which I can't apologize enough for, I have gone back to the proper rotation of shirts and we have started winning again. I'm actually only sort of kidding about this. Since I got the away/home rotation straight, every time I've worn the correct shirt, we've won.
SO ... here's the question ... since the Dayton game is a gold-out, and my home game shirt is black, what do I do? My thought is to put the gold shirt OVER the black shirt. Since that might be uncomfortable, and VCU is TELLING me to wear the gold shirt, does it matter? These are serious questions, people. In previous years I would just wear the gold shirt and not think about it, but I feel like the team needs more help this year and that I'm the lynchpin.
ETA: Another possibility is to wear the proper home game shirt, and then change shirts when I receive my gold shirt. I did that for the Black Out game, and it worked out fine. Perhaps that's what I'll do.
