played parts of 2 years (freshman and senior year) - benchwarmer - career points less than 70 (no idea why not on roster his sophmore and junior years)
you maybe right that they will pick him but not sure he will be successful and get BC in top half of ACC (will not be hard to improve on Christian tenure)
Personally I would shoot higher if I was BC AD and follow VCU path (Capel and Smart) and find a young, hungry guy in his early 30s and give him 5 years
Schmidt is still a BC guy, regardless of how much he played. BC has not had a coach with a winning record since Al Skinner, and he was fired by BC. Since Skinner left in 2010, BC record in the ACC (including this year) is 50-138.
BC has to be the least attractive job in the ACC. It is a coaching "graveyard" in a pro sports town. BC would be lucky to get Mark Schmidt as their next head coach. If he can make St. Bonaventure a top tier program in the A-10 with the facilities and location he has to work with, he can surely get BC to the middle of the pack in the ACC, and that's about all BC could hope for in basketball.
