Check out the TD tomorrow. A history of Mike Pollio written by Jerry Lindquist. Good reading.

AA says no waiting. Go Rams! How does Puerto Rico become their own country all of a sudden? Do they have a seat at the United Nations?

There are many subnational units with their own Olympic committees that get to compete as individual units in the Olympics. The British and U.S. Virgin Islands have teams, as do Hong Kong and Macau, which are technically part of China.

There is even a refugee team this year, that is made up of athletes who are technically stateless.

Some tidbits I heard this morning from very former VCU player.

- Vince is working out 3 times per day and is playing at different level.....
- Said the same thing about Watkins. High level player.
- Freshmen PG better than expected
I’m feeling a Treveon level type jump from freshman to sophomore season for Watkins.

Not really. International basketball continues to improve dramatically and catch up with American basketball. Combine this with the fact that a lot of the best American players aren’t there because they’ve played in the last 2 Olympics and have had a very compressed schedule for the last year because of how Covid affected the last 2 season and the fact that 3 of our best players didn’t get there until last week because of the NBA Finals. This team has barely practiced together.

This video goes into how much international basketball has improved.
