A request for the AD and HC, next year when the Black and Blue Cup between UR and VCU is played, do some basic advertising/marketing for the event. It'd be fun to get more people out; maybe even work with UR to promote it.

"RICHMOND, Va. – Grayson Wood (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax), the VSGA Junior Player of the Year, has signed a National Letter of Intent with VCU, Rams' Head Coach Andy Walker announced Monday.

A Fredericksburg native, Wood is set to join the Rams next fall. Wood graduated from Massaponax High School in May and has used a gap year to take the Virginia golf scene by storm.

Over the summer, he won the Bobby Bowers Invitational, captured the Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) Junior Match Play title and placed second at the Virginia Amateur. Wood also took individual medalist honors at the Northern Virginia Junior Open in April, as well as the Northern Virginia Spring Junior Open in May, fueled by a first-round 66.

In July, he competed at the 74th U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Bandon Dunes in Oregon.

This fall, Wood has already won four more tournaments, including the Hilton Head Junior Classic earlier this month, as well as the World Golf Village Fall Junior Open in October. Last year, Wood tied for second in the VHSL Class 5 State Golf Championships.

For his efforts, Wood was named VSGA Junior Golfer of the Year. He's the third player in recent years to win the award before becoming a Ram, joining Adam Ball and Lanto Griffin."

Spring golf is almost here!! 1st tourney is Feb 13-14 in Mobile, AL.
Full Schedule at

Hey VCU!! I don't see the Black and Blue Match Play with UR on the schedule. Us poor souls in RVA usually don't travel to Mobile to see golf. We DO love to see local play. May I request a little more communication to fans so we can attend local events. Thank you.
