The Offseason

If you listen to the video that I posted you will hear that Coach Odom says that Jason Nelson came from....pause.....that school. He did not mention the name and then said....Ed taught me that.
Underrated comment from the event(thanks for recording) SS texting RO to check on things and make sure his guys were good

I find it telling that there has not been an announcement for the B&G game. Last season we were counting down to 22 days until the B&G game. I was talking to a friend who mentioned that several functions will not happen this season due to cost cutbacks.

At the last coach's show, Coach O said it will be Oct 14. No time specified.

Every gosh darned year there’s some reason or another that my wife and I can’t go to the B&G game. It’s impossible to plan for because they don’t announce it terribly far in advance. This year, it’s on my wife’s birthday and we’ll be out of town celebrating that and our anniversary (which is 3 weeks before it). Last year, we were at a wedding in NOVA. Argh.

It saddens me to inform you that my good friend and colleague Dennis O'toole has passed away at age 82 from stomach cancer. Dennis and his wife Debbie are big time VCU fans and donors with seats in the middle section. Dennis and I taught together at VCU and in Italy. My wife and I socilizied with them and travel to several places together, Memphis, New Orlean, Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Italy among other places. His son ownes the Pella franchise. I was inluded in his golf foursome and he never uttered a curse word. Some of you may have had him as an econ Professor. He graduated from William and Mary, played football there, and was an academic All American. I will truly miss him.

Sorry to hear this Mike. Sounds like a wonderful friend and I know you will carry his memory forward. Positive thoughts your way during this difficult time.

I believe I've seen them at a few games. He'll be missed.

One of my all time favorite professors. He taught with great passion. I never forget his explanation of the law of diminishing returns- “if you have a girlfriend, that’s a good thing. If you have two that’s even better. If you have three, that’s the law of diminishing returns starting to kick in.”

When I was at VCU this was a Burger King. I saw this and thought I would share it for the old school RPI/VCU guys and gals.

Everyone's got a "nation" these days, LOL, VUU hung this new banner recently, and while I was doing storm prep for the kitties' colony space out back, Kat took the pups for a walk suddenly alarmed as to why they were trying to lunge at something across the street. It was their panther.
