Recruiting Transfer Portal

I think bulletin board material is not useful against teams that are competitive with you. The Spiders will not be that for us next season.
They'll be lucky to be in the top 12 of the conference next season. They're at #193 in Torvik's 2023-24 projections (14th in the conference).

I am in the gym, smelled something in my bag, opened the bag and saw BigE's message.
I immediate thought about our record against Richmond and Coach Mooney.
Will someone please post the results so I can drop the phone back into the bag to kill the stench?

7-21?

The portal is also already closed, so I don’t know how that works either.
The portal is closed for players who intend to transfer and be eligible to play in the upcoming season, but I don't think that applies to players not on scholarship.

Let’s also be real here. Connor would play about as much as prior VCU walk-ons. He barely played at USU. Whether he’s eligible to play doesn’t matter that much. He’d be a practice player and would do his help for the team there and off the court.

I guess a walk-on should be eligible to use the portal if they choose...or I think it would be a good idea as it might help them better profile themselves/get their name out there if they do opt to try and get on scholarship or walk-on at another program. But, as a walk-on I am not sure it should be required since it doesn't involve a athletic scholarship player.
Would be an interesting topic to learn about though. I guess a compliance officer would know about such stuff.

Yeah, I don't expect anyone to think he's coming here to be a role player, plus I doubt Coach Odom would want to take a scholarship away from someone.
