Yes Ed it also reminded me of the old ODU Blaine Taylor teams where their offense did not begin until they missed a shot.

Why not focus on rebounding? A rebound is the equivalent of a possession; either getting a new one for your team or taking one from the opponent.

Mike's team have been abused on the boards for years and it was awful against Wagner...42-24! That is 18 extra opportunities for the opponent!

They rarely win they get outrebounded. If he wants to keep things simple...focus on outrebounding the opponent.

Rebound margin can be a bit misleading. Defensive rebounds are easier to get. If we’re missing every shot and they’re making most of theirs, then they’re going to have more rebounds.

Shooting has been our biggest issue. We’ve been ice cold for the last 65 minutes of game play.

They got 17 of their misses. That really hurts

I would imagine they are focusing on rebounding
it’s no mystery what are the problems...up to the players to execute

I love these videos. Nice work by the Master Chef, definitely great to not only get a players perspective, but from a starter on VCU's best team of all-time. A lot of time as fans we just have to almost assume what players and former players think, so to have an actual former player give his perspective is amazing.

but I'd say at least 5 of those were b/c 2 or more of our guys went up and were fighting each other for the rebound. frustrating just the same.

We just aren’t very good at all right now. We are mostly young so that can change. Really hope MR focuses on recruiting some shooters in the near future.

Spot on advice by Ed:
Our new leaders have to be leaders, bring the energy and don't make it just about themselves. That is not who VCU is. Fix that and get on that roll...starting tonight!
