Did they really think it was about reuniting the AAU team or more about: 1) bringing in players (not including Nelson) who were highly rated/P6 recruited talent 2) keeping our own highly rated freshman (Billups) 3) ...and oh by the way, they just happened to be local and played on the same AAU...

I'm not sure that this is a local talent issue. We've had numerous non-local players who yielded similar results. A lot of strong programs are able to keep top flight local/state talent close to home. I think what happened last off-season was more of a one-off due to our need to fill roster...

I don't wish him any ill will, but I'm not exactly rooting for him either. I'll probably keep tabs on him like other defections over the years but I'll likely not have any emotions behind it. I think the only former Ram in recent memory I rooted for was Jairus Lyles in the tournament.
