If we could find ten people willing to give 10K above and beyond what they are already doing I would be very surprised. It seems like the fan base has been dwindling in recent years and the ones that are still around are pretty tapped out.

Coach said on his radio show that it is still Max's intention to go pro but if he does not do that we can't afford to keep him at VCU. Sounds like coach advised him to get in the portal just in case.

That seems to be where the most impact could be made if someone has the desire to do so. A lot of programs are going to be paying something for football players and basketball players but if you invest in a sport whose players typically don't receive anything you can make a quick jump with less...

I expected him to go pro all season but it was nice thinking that if he decided against that he might come back here. The portal thing is basically saying I don't know what I'm doing but I know I don't want to be back there. That stings a bit.

I think he was saying that we might have to cut the budgets not cut the sports programs out. We are already at the NCAA minimum I believe.

That is all true and we very well could replace him with a player that has even better skills. We are more connected to him as fans than we should be strictly based on his box score. That is kind of the point of all of this though. Or it used to be any way.
