How are you feeling right now about the team and program?

Feeling great about the season this year. Had the German stayed longer than two days Rams would have easily made the big dance and possibly had a 2+ game run there. Patrick leaving was a huge difference in having a good year (which Rams had) and an above expectations year (which would have been very achievable). Hoping like heck the portal is kind to VCU and the holes are filled for run next year. Until then keep playing hard and enjoy the NIT run however far it goes.

GO RAMS!

lol...he was going to make that big a difference based on what? Word on the street was he left because he couldn't keep up with the talent that was already here...but he would've led us to the dance?

He would have based on Rams were that close even without him. And the street is wrong - with another shooter this year for the times the Rams were cold and just looking for a short breather on the floor for the star players would have made all the difference. It is not as much about Patrick as that any one small piece that would have changed the season for the better.

Was going to say, I'm pretty sure we already discussed why he left and it had nothing to do with his talent level.
That's why I said "word on the street." Have no idea how true rumors are. One thing I'm pretty certain of, saying this guy was going to be a difference maker in year one between us going to the dance or not, is dubious at best.

May have been mentioned somewhere else.

SMU fired their coach. ACC opening.

@Bluey for intel. Pretty sure he is covering the Texas market area for us.

Wondering if maybe Will Wade heads over there since they'll be in the ACC next season...

Pretty sure SMU has higher profile/character standards than Will Wade could meet. Three of their graduate schools are ranked in the top 50 graduate programs in the nation. SMU ranks in the top 20% of national universities. They also have a $2.03 endowment fund. Their donors have big pockets and pledged $200 million in order to bridge SMU from the AAC to the ACC regarding media rights money, as SMU receives zero money from the ACC's ESPN contract for 10 years.

Their donors will be looking for a basketball coach with a much higher profile/standards than "Willie the Kid". They will spend the money for a big time coach in order to make a splash entering the ACC.

In that case I wonder if they go after Oakland's coach?

We didn't need the german. We needed the NCAA to promptly approve our Bamisile request in September..then we have had him for Orlando(Iowa St., Boise St).
