112-53...

Only way it is running up the score is if you had your starters in, the other Team is not fouling anymore, the shot clock is off and you are taking a shot.

I agree with buckwheat about how valuable it was for Gavin to be taking his shots. He needed the confidence of making those shots in a real game!

this was a conference game - if Towson can not compete they need to leave the conference.

Scroll down to Jan. 28th. Interesting comments by Kennedy at around 3:30 regarding the blow out.

Basically says if he were younger he and Shaka may have "had it out" at the scorers table, but at his age comes wisdom and he just blows it off. But then says he has been on the other side of these type of games and understand how its hard to dial down players who get a chance to play who usually don't get a lot of minutes.

Then mentions Coach Smart being a young coach, kinda insinuating that he either doesn't know how to handle these type of situations or ran the score up because of his youth? Wasn't sure where he was going with the young coach comment.

Also says they may meet in the CAA tournament and the 59 point blowout may be the worst thing to happen to VCU.

If they had a better coach I might be worried.

Wasn't Kennedy canned at Depaul and Florida State?

I think he left FSU to go to DePaul, then was canned. Could have been the other way around.

Yup, that's the correct order. Then he spent two seasons at Montana before leaving for Towson, since it was pretty evident he was going to get canned at Montana as well.

1978–1980 Iona (asst.)
1980–1986 Iona
1986–1997 Florida State
1997–2002 DePaul
2002–2004Montana
2004–present Towson

Going the wrong direction that's for sure!

He didn't do badly at FSU either. 5 NCAAs in 11 years with a 202-131 record.

Every place he has coached since, however, he's had a losing record.

saving face...blaming the other coach for your team's short-comings...last time I check we were in the same conference...compete or STFU
