1985 Rams Poster--

I mentioned this old team poster once and someone asked for a photo-- I had to come back to town and storage to retrieve it. I think it was the '85 poster- it was always my favorite. For those who only came on the scene the last few years, yes there was great basketball in the past. But, these days are incredible and seem to get better every year. We thought we were good in those days, even got the high ranking but nobody really outside VCU really believed we were a power like they are beginning to believe now.

Wish someone could find the one in the hard hats. Your poster obviously was framed and is in great condition. Mine looks like something Indiana Jones would find on a quest. I still like my old one with Calvin's signature and note though.

I think you said that in jest, but what a perfect backdrop-- construction of the new basketball training facility and our guys walking off site with hard hats, in construction gear. VCU/Havoc/ Building/ and Hard Work have been linked for years.

This poster and the one with the hard hats are my favorites of all the BB posters, but especially the one with the hard hats. They way they look in this poster is the way they played as well. You don't want to go to war with the Rams. Just look at Calvin and Mike and tell me those guys weren't tough as nails.

I miss them too...I miss walking down Broad Street to the old WoolWorth and Woolco and getting a huge vanilla milkshake at the soda fountain stand on the second floor...
