I think the 1996 VCU rams ranks up there with any of the great VCU teams. The size, depth and talent of that front line was unbelievable. I think if they beat Miss St. , they make a deep run in to the NCAA's that year.

that game was my one and only court storming...I really enjoyed watching that team. The capper was at the 96 Tourney game in Indy when I met my first VCU boosters comin' out of our hotel on our way to a beer run....couple older gents gave us $20 'cause we were in the pep band. Seemed like $100 bucks at the time

I was a photographer for the CT back then. The tidal wave of fans is just one of the things I still remember from that night. We played tight that day but it was clear we were the better team. I still have a piece of the net from that game (staff took down the other net and cut it up, I was walking by and got myself a snippet) We got hosed getting matched up with Miss St. in the tourney.
