Ok so any MLB fan has heard about the 2 perfect games in the MLB this year....
Dallas Braden of the Oakland Athletics and probabaly the more notable one.... Roy Halladay of the Philadelphia Phillies all within a matter of 3 weeks. Well after tonight there should've been 3 perfect games in the MLB.
Armando Galarraga went 8 and 2/3 of perfect game and then it all came down to what should have been the final batter. Jason Donald of the indians hit a bouncing ground ball to Miguel Cabrera at first base who fielded the ball cleanly as Galarraga came over and covered first as a Smart Pitcher would and the 1st base umpire Jim Joyce called him safe..... however every replay from every different angle they had, clearly showed that Galarraga had the ball and touched first base before Jason Donald did.
While I'm not a tigers fan, even tho I route for Brandon Inge and Scott Sizemore to do well because they're from VCU, it sucks to see a pitcher get screwed out of a perfect game when it clearly should have been a perfect game. This is one of those instances that they need to use instant replay for, even though right now they pretty much only use it for Home Runs.
Tough break for him, The Tigers and their fans. I like the idea that one of the announcers had, every coach should have 1 Instant Replay or challenge a game. While it could get out of hand, in an instance like this it's clearly a matter of history versus just another game.
