As I guessed, it will be the USF Bulls of the Big East in Tampa.

Stan Heath is wrapping up his third season at USF, but he's already lined up some solid opponents for 2010-11, with VCU and Auburn among the teams coming to Tampa next season.

The VCU game will be a homecoming game of sorts for junior guard Ed Nixon, a Lakewood grad averaging 8.3 points a game off the VCU bench this season. VCU's top two scorers this year are also juniors from Florida, in Oviedo's Joey Rodriguez and Fort Pierce's Larry Sanders.

VRam, Bang, and Rambler...looks like you guys will have a game in your neck of the woods!

YES!!! :D :D :D

The lights will be bright in the Sun Dome when the Rams come to town. Thanks for the info DB.

USF? We have a better program than the Bulls. Is this a home-and-home? I hope so. If not, that's weak.

I guess if BCS programs like Rutgers, Seton Hall, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Iowa St, USF, Providence, DePaul, etc. excite you, then this is a big deal.

Certainly nice to get the seniors a Florida-based game...............but that's about it. Wonder if Domonique Jones and Gus Gilchrist will still be around.

While they're at it, going forward, the staff needs to get us the maximum number of regular season games..............31.

We have 28 this year.

I'll be there. Never missed it when we were in the Metro. Was at the Kenny Harris/Sherron Mills/Chris Brower miracle comeback game.

I envy them being in the Big East. There was a big write up a couple of weeks ago in Sports Illustrated along with the swimsuit edition. They have come a long way.

Technically it's a BCS game, but the opponent feels less like a BCS team than almost any other BCS program I can think of on the East Coast. It's like playing URI..a decent win at the time if you can get it but it's not going to help much down the stretch. Still better than playing Longwood!

Dominique Jones is a handful. Ed can stick him though. I think they are a good opponent for us, it had better be a home and home though. Before the season, Shaka said that VCU deserves home and home series with BCS schools. He commented that just playing a single game in their house was not acceptable.

jones is definitely a handful who is projected as a late first by nbadraft.net if he comes out so who knows if he will even be there next year, but if he isnt while it might be an easier game for us to win it might make it meaningless as he is carrying that team to respectability this year.

Florida Ram fans are doing cartwheels this morning! I don't care if they aren't Florida or FSU, this beats the heck out of Longwood/Hampton.

South Florida is still a Big East school. They have beaten UVA, Pittsburgh, Georgetown, Seton Hall and Cincinnati this year. Don't under estimate their program. Some posters on these boards are getting a little too high and mighty regarding VCU. This is a solid road game for VCU against a BCS school and one we should have a chance to win. Having a home and home with USF would just be icing on the cake. These are the types of games VCU needs to schedule.
