Wow. That's quite a list! Let's hope some of these promising young men decide to become Rams!

2011 should have some guards/wings with Joey, Ed, B-Roz all scheduled to be gone by then. Theus, Daniels and Grayson will all be juniors as well

to add to your list...

Henry Brooks 6' 8" 215lb PF Livonia GA offers from Georgetown, Maryland, Northwestern, Oregon State, Rice, VCU, VT....interest from Georgia Tech, Tenn, Western Kentucky, Xavier

Marvin King-Davis, 6'7", 200lb Varina and Meadowbrook HS both listed interest from Northeastern, VCU, Xavier.

Perry Henry 6' 3" Charlston, WV offers from Akron, Cleveland St, Deleware, Marshall, Ohio, VCU, VT, W Va, Xavier

Dave Appolon ’11, Imhotep Charter (PA) teams: Marquette, St. Joseph’s, Temple, Towson, Delaware, Mount St. Mary’s, Virginia Commonwealth, and George Mason
Offers: Towson, Delaware, Mount St. Mary’s
Favorites: “I like Marquette and St. Joe’s. I like VCU [also].”

A.J. English 6' 3" 175: Middletown, Delaware offers: Mason, Niagara, VCU, Xavier, Marquette.

Trey Davis 6' 4" Benedictine. offer: Richmond; interest VCU, ODU, UVA, VT

Jordan Laguerre - 6'1 PG, ESPN rated 90

It might be easier to post the names of recruits that haven't received an offer from VCU.

Obviously the coaching staff has been working hard though. Keep it up!

I know this name has come up before as a 2008 or 2009 recruit I believe, but ESPN has us listed as having a verbal from Noma Adjaito (now class of 2011) and has for quite some time. Are we still connected with him in any way? I assume that he is back in the states since he was evaluated last March, but I am not sure if Coach Smart and staff have ever had any contact with him. They have him listed as a 6'9 205 PF with a grade of 87 and have him on the top 100 watch list.

Trey Davis gave Richmond a verbal today

Trey to UR is really big for them. Scout has him as the 24th best SG rated at 3 stars. I hate UR but it's nice to see his loyalty to UR since his dad went there. Plus Trey and his family are Richmonders.

Just think how nice it would have been to have Gerald Henderson and Rolando Lamb's sons commit to us.

 If Gerald Henderson and Rolando Lamb's sons committed to us we would be in a completely different place. Imagine if a freshman Henderson Jr. and a sophomore Maynor were playing together on that '06-'07 team.

That's a very nice get for Richmond, good for them. I also like to see the family loyalty there. Looks like the Richmond backcourt will be fine after losing Gonzo with Kevin Anderson still in the wings, and Cedrick Lindsay (a stud from DC) coming in this year and Trey Davis (just as much of a stud from Richmond) coming in the year after. Looks like they are capitalizing off of this years success, as they should.

Looks like Richmond is becoming a college hoops hot bed. I have noticed that Smart brought in a huge haul and I think Mooney is well on his way for 2011 with Davis. DB I see that Cory Joseph committed to Texas. He is a heck of a player. I think he made a good choice not going to Uconn - Calhoun seems to have lost his fastball.

Yeah it looks like the 2 Richmond programs are recruiting well right now. Should make for some great games down the road.

Cory had been leaning towards Texas for sometime, especially with Calhoun's health failing. His fellow Findlay Prep classmate Tristan Thompson has been in his ear for months about going and they have very strong ties both coming from Toronto high school programs to prep in the U.S. at Findlay. Rick Barnes is stockpiling a lot of the top Toronto talent at Texas with Cory Joseph, Tristan Thompson, and has a commitment from one of the top PG's 2011 from Myck Kabongo, another Toronto transplant who plays at St. Benedict's in NJ. A lot of these guys want to play with their hometown boys.

As for our recruiting haul, yes it is pretty impressive, especially for our level. Dave Telep was particularly impressed with Juvonte Reddic and Reco McCarter committing both of whom had several offers from the ACC and SEC. That said, I'm probably most excited about our lowest rated guy in Darrell Haley Jr. He's a 7-footer with lots of athleticism and runs the floor very well. I think he has the physical tools to be very special. That should put us in a good position for the next couple of years provided our guys pan out. Looks like Richmond is doing a great job in that department as well. As they say, recruiting is the lifeblood of any college basketball program.

With Wilson (from FL) already committed, if we got Leonard and two solid guards what a great complementary class it would be! I think we're in very good future shape for center/small forward options, but some girth at power forward would be ideal....assuming, of course, the player has ability to fit Shaka's tempo/system.

I can't recall having as much confidence in our recruiting process as I do now. That is the result of many, many factors. We should be proud of the maturity of our program: administration, coaching, facilities, fans. What a great foundation being put in place!

We have always had good recruiting. For our league VCU is a very desirable place for recruits. The school size, facilities, programs, and location give us a competitive edge. Remember even when McCarthy and Polio were here we brought in very talented players Remember Mark Jackson center and solid NBA career he started here.

Grant's recruits was pretty good with Joey, Larry, Kearse, Ed, Brandon, Santil, Brad, and Skeen all were all state guys, Capel had some great recruits in Nick George, BA, Jesse, Maynor, Shu, ( he even had Mandeldove, and Whitehurst).

I agree the recruits are good but recruiting has never really been an issue for us. If you look back at all CAA teams we always have a guy on the first team and often multiple guys. This has been the case for several years at least 8 years.
