Was scanning the rivals list to see who they had connected to us with either interest or an offer and came across a name I hadnt seen on the boards before. They list Brogdon as a 3 star (35 SG; 115 overall) with offers from Clemson, Tulane, Georgia, Witchita State, East Carolina and us. Interest but no offer includes Wake, Butler, Bama, Georgia Tech. ESPN has him as a 90; Scout has him as a 3 star.

One of the top contenders for the AJC’s Mr. Georgia Basketball 2011 is Greater Atlanta Christian’s Malcolm Brogdon.

The 6-foot-5, 206-pounder nearly won it this past season while leading GAC to the Class AA state championship. Brogdon averaged 20 points per game as a junior.

Malcolm Brogdon of Greater Atlanta Christian was recently named Georgia's AA Player of the Year by the AJC and Gwinnett County's Player of the Year by the Gwinnett Daily Post. Malcolm finished the season averaging 20.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game and helped lead his team to the AA State Title.

thanks. do we know what if any interest he has in us since it appears he also got a scholarship offer from Minnesota in the past week?

from 'Chill's link:

Brogdon – “I’m looking at if I can go and make an immediate impact. I’m looking at how much I like the coach and how I get along with him. I’m looking at if I can get a good education at the school.”

All certainly positive factors for us.

Kid can shoot

Malcolm Brogdon looked very strong both offensively and defensively. He’s got a great outside shot and just knows how to score. Brogdon finished with 23 points, shooting 8-of-10 in the game.

VCU won't overlook him, for sure!

Looks like UVA didn't overlook him either. He just committed to Tony Bennett and crew today. On to the next one...

Might verbal from Trev this week have influenced Brogdon forgoing Rams, or unrelated?

Regardless, while I never like losing a potential recruit to any in-state team, I'm real happy with style of play I'm hearing about from Trev relative to our system...I see him as a swing/SF, agree? Wouldn't our interest now for one remaining 2011 shift to only a big? I think we're set for SF/Swing guys for near term...but I'll leave the recruiting to the coaches.

it would have to be a big or a pure point. we have a few combo's that can possibly play point but other than theus we really dont have any true pg's after joey leaves.

I hope he realizes once he's enrolled that he can transfer.

Bang win! (oops, I don't give those out.)
