According to Paul Biancardi: 2013 -6 8" 235lbs Tyrek Coger a wide body who punishes defenders inside. Says VCU leads,Georgetown,N.C State, and others!
Playing at the Carolina Challenge today.

I guess since we're in the elite 8 we can recruit 2 classes ahead... any links?

ESPN says he's a 92 and the #5 Center...#47 overall. Wow. Get some of that.

Love the visibility we're getting...and deserve.

He lists NC State as a school of strong interest...seems reasonable since he's from the area. Question: with Lowe's removal as coach are there any kids for next year's incoming classs that we were involved with that might reconsider? I recall us being after a very good pg that I thought choose NC State.

I'm sure it all depends on the coach they bring in. Tyler Lewis is the guy you're thinkin of.

And speaking of the Carolina Challenge, Paul Biancardi has some info on some youngsters, of which Montarius Hall, 6-8, 220lb PF for 2010 has interest in us:

The strong, powerful forward plays with a nastiness when it comes to finishing inside, defending and rebounding. Hall rebounds with two hands, finishes drop-off passes with power, works the offensive glass for second-chance points, sets good ball screens and catches everything that comes his way. He can also knock down a 12-foot jumper and shoot the jump hook over his left shoulder. Right now his top three are Charlotte, VCU and LSU.

saw an interview with Coach L from GMU. He said the year after they went to the final four, he would call poeple and the recruit would respond with "GMU! the team that went to the final four?!"

I'd love to think for us they'd say, "VCU!? The team that won the National Championship under a coach who was in his first NCAA tournament?"

Coger just re-opened his recruiting. I'm sure Missouri is still gonna be high on his list but I'm sure Shaka will make a run at him.

I don't think you'll see VCU make a run at him actually. He wouldn't be a good fit for our style. I'm willing to bet we already have a bunch of targets that we've identified in July that would be great fits in black and gold (and gray I guess now) .

Why wouldnt he be a good fit for out style? A while ago before he committed to Mizzou you had mentioned his strong relationship with our staff...I wonder why he wouldn't be someone that we would still be interested in pursuing.
