The travel agent who swindled George Mason and a number of other schools out of hundreds of thousands of dollars by failing to book travel arrangements for various events pled guilty to wire fraud and running a Ponzi scheme. The agent fleeced GMU out of $160,000, using some of it to pay back a NAIA school that he had also failed to arrange travel for (to a baseball tournament).
This is probably going to be the end of the VII Group, which runs Holiday Hoopsgiving and a couple other college and high school MTEs. They're also currently being sued by Memphis, who demanded a refund after withdrawing from last season's Holiday Hoopsgiving.
